Kabul, Apr 15 (IBNS): Unknown attackers destroyed a girls school in Afghanistan's  western Farah province on Sunday, media reports said.

The school was set ablaze by some armed men last year but it continued to provide education for almost 500 girls, reported Tolo News of Afghanistan.

The officials told the news portal that the armed men entered the school and placed explosives inside the building and detonated it afterward.

According to reports, the incident occurred in Benafsha Girls High School in Tosak village on the outskirts of Farah city.

No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.
