US: Armed man tries to enter Mar-a-Lago, shot dead by Secret Service Agents

An armed man was shot and killed by U.S. Secret Service agents after unlawfully attempting to enter the premises of President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

The identity of the man has not yet been released.

According to a report by BBC, President Donald Trump is spending the weekend at the White House, as per his public schedule.

In a statement, the Secret Service said a man in his early 20s breached the secure perimeter at Mar-a-Lago at approximately 1:30 a.m. He was subsequently shot by Secret Service agents and a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said the man appeared to be carrying a shotgun and a fuel can at the time of the incident.

U.S. Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi wrote on X: “An armed man was shot and killed by U.S. Secret Service agents and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies after unlawfully entering the secure perimeter at Mar-a-Lago early this morning.”
