US Presidential election: Donald Trump refuses to concede defeat, claims to win polls

Washington/IBNS: Even as major television networks declared Joe Biden victorious in the 46th US Presidential Election with the Democrat reaching the 270 electoral votes-mark, incumbent President Donald Trump refused to concede defeat and rather claimed to win the polls himself.

In a tweet, he wrote: "I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!"

He then wrote: "The observers were not allowed into the counting rooms. I won the election, got 71,000,000 legal votes. Bad Things happened which our observers were not allowed to see."

"Millions of mail-in ballots were sent to people who never asked for them," he added.

Soon after the tweet, Twitter called the claim "disputed."

Trump underlined that states had not yet certified the results.

His campaign has launched multiple "legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor."

All major American media including CNN, NBC broadcasters and AP news agency declared the Democrat nominee's win on Saturday.

As per them, Biden has crossed the magic number of 270 electoral votes-mark.

CNN said Pennsylvania's 20 electoral votes put Biden over the 270 electoral votes needed to win.

With Pennsylvania in his kitty, Biden has now got 273 out of 538 Electoral College votes, crossing the 270-limit, dashing all hopes of Donald Trump to secure a second term even if he managed to win the rest of the undeclared states.
