US Presidential Election Results: Trump repeats voting fraud claims, Biden remains calm

Washington/IBNS: US President Donald Trump on Thursday once again cried foul over the federal elections accusing his challenger and Democratic nominee Joe Biden of "stealing" the polls, as the Republicans are slowly losing the race to the White House.

"If you count the legal votes, I easily win. If you count the illegal votes which came in late, they can try to steal the election from us," Trump said in an address.

As per the latest update by BBC News, Biden is ahead in 264 electoral college votes as opposed to Trump's 214.

270 electoral college votes are needed for a candidate to enter into the White House, where Trump was elected to in 2016.

While the margin of votes is narrowing in various states upsetting Trump's race, Biden, who looked poised and calm in his address, said, "In America, voters are sacred. It's how the people of the nation express their will and it is the will of the voters, no one, not anything else, that chooses the President of the United States of America.

"So, each ballot must be counted and that's what is going through now. And that's how it should be. Democracy is sometimes messy. It also requires patience sometimes..."

As the postal ballots and mail-ins are now being counted, all eyes are on four crucial states, Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Arizona.

Though Trump was earlier leading in Georgia and Pennsylvania, the President's lead shrunk greatly with the counting of the ballots.

In Nevada, Biden has increased his lead from 8,000 to 11,000 while Trump has managed to reduce his margin of trailing in Arizona where the Democratic nominee is still ahead by 46,000 votes.

Though Trump has moved the Supreme Court pleading to stop the vote count, Pennsylvania has urged the court to reject the President's case.
