We renew love, faith that binds us together as one American family: Obama

Washington, Sept 11 (IBNS): Remembering those killed in the 9/11 attack in the US, President Barack Obama on Sunday said the country renewed the love and faith that bind them together as one 'American family'.

"We renew the love and faith that binds us together as one American family," Obama said.

"The survivors and families of 9/11—your steadfast love and faithfulness has been an inspiration to me and for our entire country," he said.

Obama said his government will resolve to do everything in power to protect the country.

Obama was speaking at the 15th anniversary of 9/11 incident that had shocked the nation.

Americans on Sunday observed the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in the New York city that left nearly 3,000 people dead.

The deadly terror strike, which took place on Sept 11, 2001, actually reshaped the course of the US history.

The attacks widely believed to have been carried out by militant group Al-Qaeda under the leadership of Osama Bin Laden, had destroyed the then World Trade Centre as two planes crashed in the building.

Another plane hit and bit off parts of the Pentagon, the headquarters of the US Defense.

A fourth plane, heading towards Washington DC, crashed into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
