Kolkata, June 3 (IBNS): Indian Institute of Photography Kolkata's (IIPK) inaugurated its new studio at its campus in Kolkata's Salt Lake Sector V area on Tuesday.

Fashion designer Agnimitra Paul formally launched the campus in the presence of Sanat Ghosh, Dean, IIPK.

A new website of the institute www.iipkolkata.com was also officially launched.

“IIP Kolkata is back with a new state-of-the-art fully equipped studio set to fulfill new dreams and promises for youngsters and amateur photographers who are keen to pursue photography as a career option. IIP Kolkata's new logo reflects a whole new approach to the profession of photography. It combines art as well as commercial aspects to offer photography as a mainstream profession for students. Our goal is to nurture students, the photographers of tomorrow, by providing the right foundation today,” said Sanat Ghosh, Dean of IIP Kolkata and an ace commercial photographer by profession.

“Photography has become a very lucrative profession and there is a huge demand for quality photographers today. With more and more end user devices made available, photography has become a very important and intrinsic part of the digital universe," he said.

"This calls for developing new skill sets and has opened up new career opportunities for the young. IIP Kolkata is currently conducting a 1 year Advance Diploma in Commercial Photography (ADCP) and course and a 10-month Diploma in Photography (Weekend) course open to anyone who has higher secondary level exam,” Ghosh said.
