Kolkata, Sept 18 (IBNS) Workers in India on Friday celebrated Vishwakarma Day, dedicating it to Lord Vishwakarma, the Divine Architect.
According to the Vedas, Lord Vishwakarma is believed to be one of the fourteen precious things that emerged during the ‘Samudra Manthan’ (Churning of the Ocean) and served as a master architect, building several important palaces and halls for the Gods.

Indian states of West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Tripura, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar among others celebrates this day with a lot of grandeur.

Vishwakarma Day is observed as a holiday in many places as workers refrain from touching their tools in honour of the God.
