APSC cash-for-job scam : ED to grill accused persons in jail

Guwahati, July 1 (IBNS) : A new twist added in the investigation process of the cash-for-job scam of Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) after a local court permitted the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to start their prove into the scam.

After court's permission, ED would likely to grill several accused persons of the scam, including former chairman of APSC Rakesh Paul, his associates Samedur Rahman, Basanta Doley, who are presently lodged in jail.

A top ED official said that, the ED team would likely to grill the accused persons in jail next week.

Earlier, ED had registered a case in connection with the scam in view of money laundering.

Dibrugarh police had already arrested several persons including Rakesh Paul in connection with the scam.

Police had also arrested three Assam Civil Service (ACS) officials and grilled 25 more government officials.

Recently, the sleuths of Dibrugarh police had interrogated 27 invigilators in connection with the scam.
