Arms dealer nabbed in Nagaland's Dimapur

Guwahati, Sept 22 (IBNS): The troops of Assam Rifles apprehended an arms dealer and seized arms and ammunition in Nagaland’s Dimapur on Thursday, officials said.

According to the reports, based on specific information regarding presence of an arms dealer, 36 Assam Rifles along with police launched a joint operation at Naharbari village near Dimapur and apprehended the arms dealer identified as Inavi Achumi.

Security personnel recovered one point 22 mm pistol with magazine, one 12 Bore Shot Gun, one pistol magazine,  eight live rounds of 12 Bore Shot Gun and fifteen fired cases cartridges (Shot Gun) in possession from him.

Later, the apprehendee along with the recovered arms and ammunition was handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
