Assam Rifles nab two NDFB (S) militants in Nagaland

Guwahati, Oct 26 (IBNS): Security forces have apprehended two militants of banned outfit NDFB (S) in Nagaland’s Kohima.

According to the reports, based on specific information Kohima  battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) launched an operation in general area BOC, Kohima.

During the search operation the Assam Rifles troops apprehended two militants.

The nabbed militants were identified as Self Styled Lance Corporal of the outfit Biki Basumatary and Nerswn Narzary and both are hailing from Assam’s Kokrajhar district.

Security personnel have recovered a Nokia mobile phone and cash of 1,000 in Korean currency in possession from them.

“Self Styled Lance Corporal Biki Basumatary revealed that he had infiltrated to Myanmar in 2014 and underwent three years of training in Thulu Camp of NDFB (S). He recently relocated to Kohima in general area D’ Block. He had come to Kohima with specific direction from his hierarchy for recruitment of new cadres and also to act as a linkup man between NSCN (K) and NDFB (S). He was further instructed to facilitate movement of cadres from Assam to Myanmar through Kohima,” a top official of Assam Rifles said.

Both apprehendees were handed over to South Police Station, Kohima for further investigation.
