Bengaluru building collapse: Death toll touches six

Bengaluru, Oct 16 (IBNS): The death toll in the Bengaluru building collapse incident has risen to six, reports said.

Earlier it was reported that three persons had died, while three others had sustained injuries.

The incident took place on Monday morning in the city's Ejipura area.

According to Fire and Emergency services personnel, the incident happened at around 6:30 am and was triggered by a gas cylinder explosion.

The deceased have been identified as Sharavana (30) and his eight-month-pregnant wife, Ashwini (21), who lived in the ground floor of the building, The Hindu reported.

National disaster response force (NDRF) officials have also recovered the bodies of the other four victims.

They have been identified as Kalavathi (68), Ravichandran (48), Hariprasad (19) and Pavan Kalyan (18).
