Congress condoles death of Myanmar Consul General

New Delhi, Oct 28 (IBNS): The Congress has condoled the death of Myanmar Consul General Pyi Soe in a road mishap in Jharkhand on Friday.

The Congress party tweeted:"Our condolences to the family of Consul General Pyi Soe & the Govt. of Myanmar on his unfortunate passing."

Myanmar Consul General in Kolkata was killed and three others were seriously injured after their SUV crashed into a truck on NH-2 near Galijori More under Nimiyaghat Police Station limits in Dumri block in Giridih district of Jharkhand, 190 km from Ranchi, on Friday morning, officials said.

Pyi Soe (49) was going towards Kolkata when the mishap occurred at around 11 am, police said.

Police have started investigating into the incident.

Soe was appointed as Myanmar Consul General in Kolkata in December last year.
