Decision on forming PDP-BJP govt soon: Mehbooba

| | Mar 08, 2016, at 12:04 am
Kupwara, Mar 7 (IBNS) People’s Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said a decision on formation of the government in Jammu and Kashmir with the BJP will soon be taken after consultation with party leaders.

She said it was his father and late J&K CM  Mufti Mohammad Sayeed  who had decided to take forward the mission by forming a PDP- BJP government for the people of Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir was placed under the Governor's rule on Jan 8 after Mufti Mohammad Sayeed passed away on Jan 7 in New Delhi and Mehbooba Mufti did not step forward to stake claim to form the government owing to differences with the BJP, the alliance partner in the previous government.

Mehbooba said: “I will sit on chair but not for myself but for the people."

She made it clear that the government of India has to take concrete steps towards implementing the agenda of alliance.

"Agenda of the alliance has to be implemented in letter and spirit and concrete steps are needed for the same," she added.

Meanwhile, Mehbooba has called a legislature party meeting later in the day in Srinagar to decide on the government formation in the state.
