Coimbatore, Sept 3 (IBNS): The Tamil Nadu police on Monday informed that they have arrested five men from Coimbatore who were allegedly planning to kill two Hindu leaders.

The arrests were reportedly made on Saturday based on intelligence inputs which said that the men came to the city to attend the wedding of a convict out on parole.

According to the police, the men planned to cause communal discord in Coimbatore.

They were conspiring to target leaders of the Hindu Makkal Katchi.

Even though they haven't been branded as terrorists, the five men happen to have alleged links with the ISIS outfit in Jammu and Kashmir, said reports.

They were scheduled to create communal discord on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi that is on Sept 13.
