Ghaziabad, UP, Aug 11 (IBNS): The body of Buxar District Magistrate (DM) Mukesh Pandey was recovered from Ghaziabad Railway Station on Thursday in what police are treating as a suicide case, reports said.

GRP officials have stated that a suicide note was found near the severed body, through which they ascertained the DM's identity.

Ghaziabad GRP SHO Somvir Singh said that Pandey had likely committed suicide by jumping in front of a speeding train.

Singh added that Pandey's body has been sent for post mortem, which would be conducted later on Friday.

According to GRP officials, the alleged suicide note stated his name and his batch number, along with his intention of  committing suicide.

Meanwhile, ANI news agency quoted Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as saying, "He was efficient administrator and a sensitive officer. May God bless his soul."
