Guwahati police official suspended for sexually assaulting two women

Guwahati, Sept 19 (IBNS): The Guwahati City Police has suspended an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) for allegedly sexually assaulting two women.

The accused police personnel, identified as Mohan Doley posted at Satgaon police station in the city, had sexually assaulted the women on different occasions when the victims came to the police station for different purposes.

According to the reports, the victims hailing from Jorabat and Panjabari area had lodged complaint against the accused police official.

Following the complaint, Guwahati city police had registered a case (no – 227/2018) under section 354 of IPC at Noonmati police station and started investigation.

Purabi Mazumdar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) said that, based on the FIR lodged by one of the victim police conducted investigation and found sufficient evidences against the accused police official.

“The incidents happened few days ago, but one of the victim had lodged an FIR on Tuesday. As of now, Mohan Doley has been suspended from his duty and investigation is going on,” Purabi Mazumdar said.
