New Delhi, Sept 30 (IBNS): Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government and alleged that public money was being used to bail-out the debt-ridden IL&FS group.

Rahul alleged that Modi is bailing out the group with public savings in LIC and the State Bank of India (SBI).

Gandhi tweeted as he made the allegations against the group.

Gandhi alleged that alleges that in 2007 when Narendra Modi was serving as the Gujarat Chief minister then IL&FS was given the 'GIFT CITY' project worth Rs 70,000 crore.

However, Gandhi said no work has been achieved under the plan so far.

Congress leader Manish Tewari also reacted on the issue and tweeted: "This is why IL&FS financials need to be forensically audited as Management,Principal shareholders&NDA/BJPGovt are unwilling to address THE 42,000 crore question Peruse second Graphic minutely.Rs42,000 crores was disbursed in past 4 years.Nobody knows where the money disappeared."
