Jharkhand High Court rejects bail petition of Congress MLA Nirmala Devi

Ranchi, Sep 13 (UNI) The Jharkhand High Court today rejected the bail petition of Congress party's Barkagaon MLA Nirmala Devi.

The state government had opposed the bail petition of the MLA stating that criminal cases were currently on against her therefore she should not be granted bail as after receiving the bail she might influence the case. The court agreed with the arguments of the state government and rejected her bail petition.

Nirmala Devi and her husband former minister Yogendra Sao are facing charges in cases related to agitation against NTPC project in their area during which at Chirudih a major clash had broken out between the villagers and the police in which police was forced to fire in which four villagers were killed.
