J&K youth killed in Russia laid to rest in Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 12 (IBNS) The body of a local youth, who was beaten to death by goons in Russia province of Tatarstan, was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar city on Saturday amid demand for justice for the deceased's family.

Yasir was in coma and was under treatment at the Kazan Trauma Centre in Russia for several days.

The goons attacked him with a purpose to rob him from his belongings including money.

When his body arrived, a pale of gloom descended as women mourned by beating their chests and screams.

After necessary religious formalities, several thousand people attended the funeral prayers of
the deceased amid protests.

Murtaza Jaffar, a friend of Yasir, informed External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj  with a tweet that read,"@SushmaSwaraj ma’am a kashmiri medical student has been attacked by local goons in Russia, he is in coma. Lost his money and documents too. SOS"
