Karnataka road mishap leaves three killed

Belagavi/UNI: Three people were killed and four others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a pick-up vehicle near Somnatti cross in Bailhongal taluka of this district of Karnataka, police said on Saturday.

The incident occurred late Friday night when a sand-laden truck hit the pickup vehicle proceeding towards Belagavi, killing three on the spot.

The deceased were identified as Fakirappa Tuljannavar (42), a resident of Somnatti in Bailhongal, Laxmi Gudgoli (35) and her son Kumar (8), residents of Ankalgi in Gokak.

The injured were admitted to hospital.

A case has been registered.
