Kashmir: Omar Abdullah to be shifted another location

| @indiablooms | Jan 15, 2020, at 08:21 pm

Sri Nagar/IBNS: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will be shifted to a bungalow near his official residence in the city but he will continue to be in detention, reported NDTV.

Abdullah has been under detention since Aug 5 along with two other former Chief Ministers-his father Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti- on the eve of the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution and its bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories.

The report said that the 49-year-old leader will be moved to the new location this week.

The government's decision was prompted by a number of considerations including the visit of US President Donal Trump on February, next.

A delegation of Union minister is also likely to visit the the Kashmir valley this week.

Mr Abdullah and his father have been kept in confinement at Hari Niwas, a state guest house.

There will be no change of location for former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who is staying at the guest house in Transport Lane.
