Kenyan Navy Commander Paul Owuor Otieno meets Indian COAS Upendra Dwivedi, discusses defence ties

Kenyan Navy Commander, Major General Paul Owuor Otieno called on COAS General Upendra Dwivedi on Monday when they discussed advancing defence cooperation and enhancing regional security.

Sharing details about the meeting, the Indian Army wrote on X: "Major General Paul Owuor Otieno, Commander of the Kenya Navy, called on #GeneralUpendraDwivedi, #COAS, today. The interaction highlighted the enduring friendship between #India and #Kenya, with discussions focused on advancing bilateral #DefenceCooperation and enhancing regional security."

The Indian Army said both leaders also deliberated on the prevailing geostrategic environment in the Indian Ocean Region and reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace and stability.

India and Kenya are maritime neighbours.
