Madrasa teacher killed in Meerut, TMC blames Yogi government

Kolkata/Meerut/IBNS: The killing of a Madrasa teacher, whose body was brought to his home state West Bengal on Wednesday, in Meerut has once again brought Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh at the loggerheads, media reports said.

The TMC has hit out at Yogi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for failing to ensure security of the minorities in Uttar Pradesh.

"We are sad and heartbroken to see the state of the dead body. The Yogi government has failed to ensure security of sons of Bengal who used to go to Uttar Pradesh for work. Few days ago, same thing happened in Jammu and Kashmir where a man from West Bengal was killed.

These incidents are happening in states which are ruled by the BJP," said a TMC leader.

The family members of the victim said he was murdered.

Few days ago, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had hit out at the Yogi government for attaching properties of anti-Citizenship (Amendment) Act-protesters who had vandalised public properties in Uttar Pradesh.

"There are several states which are not ruled by the BJP. Will it be nice if we start doing the same thing," had said the Chief Minister.
