Kolkata, Aug 31 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday criticised the Centre over the falling value of the Indian rupee and increasing petrol diesel prices and said the situation in the country is currently 'very dangerous' for common people.

"Rupee suffering from low fever. Petrol and Diesel prices highest ever," Mamata wrote in a Facebook post as she targeted the Centre over numeorus issues.

She added: "Very dangerous situation for the common people of India."

"Everyone of this country is concerned now," she said.

The value of Indian currency reached a new low at Rs 71 corresponding to the value of one US dollar, media reports said on Friday.

This is the lowest ever value of rupee.

On Thursday, the rupee plunged to 70.82 a dollar.
