"Doctored video made by Pakistan will have no effect on international platforms. The problem within Pakistan is one thing, then they are cooking up stories and doctoring videos to defame India," he told reporters.

"The MEA (Ministry of External Affairs) has already come out with a statement regarding the forged, doctored video and the made up story being created by the Pakistani establishment. We don't have to pay attention to that, and I feel that this is an internal game within the Pakistani establishment, their government, the prime minister and their agencies," Rijiju said. 

This comes after the Pakistan government released a video showing ex-naval officer, Kulbhushan Jadhav, admitting that he is a spy.

Pakistan on Tuesday released the video purportedly showing the arrested Indian, Kulbushan Jadhav as saying that he had been directing various activities in Karachi and Balochistan "at the behest of RAW", (Research and Analysis Wing) the Indian intelligence agency, and that he was still with the Indian Navy.

Earlier on Wednesday, the MEA came out with a statement, saying Pakistan's charges have "no basis in fact."

"Government categorically rejects allegations that this individual was involved in subversive activities in Pakistan at our behest. Our enquiries reveal that he apparently was being harassed while operating a legitimate business from Iran," read a statement issued by the MEA.


"While we probe this aspect further, his presence now in Pakistan raises questions, including the possibility of his abduction from Iran. This would become clear only if we are given consular access to him and we urge the Government of Pakistan to respond immediately to our request," it said.
