PM Modi to inaugurate Sardar Sarovar Dam today
Modi will mark his birthday by dedicating the world's second largest dam to India.
The foundation stone of the dam was laid by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on April 5, 1961.
The dam is 1.2-km-long and 163 metres deep.
The inauguration will take place even as activist Medha Patkar is protesting against the project while demanding rehabilitation of the families affected by the construction of the same.
