Police recover huge quantity of illegal drugs and arrested three persons in Assam’s Karimganj district

Guwahati, Sept 19 (IBNS): Police has seized huge quantity of illegal drugs worth of Rs 10 lakh and arrested three persons in Assam’s Karimganj district.

According to the reports, based on intelligence input, Churaibari police in the Barak valley district on Tuesday had intercepted a Mahindra Bolero bearing registration number of AS-10D- 5821 vehicle at the check post at Churaibari along with Assam-Tripura border.

During search operation police had found about 2000 numbers Yaba tablet (illegal drugs) packed in a bag and arrested three persons, who carried the illegal drugs.

The vehicle was coming from Nilambazar area to Tripura.

The arrested persons were identified as Suhail Ahmed, Alaluddin and Milan Miyan and they had tried to carry the seized illegal drugs to Bangladesh via Tripura. 

“We had intercepted a Bolero vehicle coming from Nilambazar area to Tripura. During search operation, we had found a suspected packet of illegal drugs and arrested three persons,” a police officer said.
