New Delhi, Mar 7 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee will not attend a festival organized by spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living Foundation in New Delhi this week.

A Rashtrapati Bhavan source was quoted as saying by The Hindu that Mukherjee would not attend the event, which has come under the scanner of National Green Tribunal (NGT) for alleged violation of environmental norms.

The festival will be held on the Yamuna floodplains here.

According to the  Art of Living Foundation website: "The World Culture Festival 2016 is a celebration of The Art of Living's 35 years of service to humanity, spirituality and human values. It will take place on March 11-13, 2016 in New Delhi, India."
