President wishes Iran on eve of Nouroz Day

New Delhi, Mar 20 (IBNS) President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the eve of the Nouroz day of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In his message to  Hassan Rouhani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the President said, “On behalf of the people, the Government of India and on my own behalf, I extend warm greetings and best wishes to you and to the friendly people of Iran on the joyous occasion of Nouroz."

"The close and friendly bilateral relations between India and Iran are built on historical, civilisational and cultural ties reinforced over centuries. Iran is an important neighbour and partner of India in trade and economic cooperation, and we look forward to further developing our collaborative partnership across diverse areas," Mukherjee said.
