Prime Minister Narendra Modi attends JAI meeting, calls it 'historic'

Buenos Aires, Dec 1 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday termed the meeting between India-US-Japan partnership nations or 'JAI' as 'historic'.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the G20 Summit here.

Modi said the meeting marked a 'great beginning'.

The PM said the leaders discussed issues related to furthering connectivity, maritime cooperation and a stable Indo-Pacific.

"JAI (Japan, America, India) trilateral marks the coming together of three friendly nations. Today's historic JAI meeting was a great beginning. PM @AbeShinzo, @POTUS and I held fruitful talks aimed at furthering connectivity, maritime cooperation and a stable Indo-Pacific," Modi tweeted.

Speaking on the meeting, MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said: "Coming together of strategic partners The first-ever trilateral Summit 'JAI' between the leaders of Japan @AbeShinzo, America @realDonaldTrump & India @narendramodi concluded a while ago in Buenos Aires. Leaders exchanged views on Indo Pacific, maritime and connectivity issues."
