Prisoner Sasikala getting VIP treatment inside jail?

| | Jul 19, 2017, at 01:32 am
Chennai, July 18 (IBNS): Former AIADMK chief Sasikala Natarajan, who was jailed in a corruption case, is getting VIP treatment as the prisoner, some local media reports said on Tuesday.

The allegations of providing special treatment to Sasikala came into light after former DIG Prisons D Roopa alleged that the former has bribed the jail officials a sum of two crores for the benefits.

Roopa even said Sasikala had an access to a separate kitchen for her meals.

Though the DG lost her job immediately, some local channels aired the footage on Tuesday which shows Sasikala is staying in a room inside the prison where a LED TV is installed.

She is also seen as not wearing any prisoner's cloth rather was visible in a silk attire.

Reports suggested that there are separate vacant cells inside the prison where she used to hold meetings with several guests.

Sasikala was convicted in a money laundering case in February 2017 which led to an imprisonment of four years.

She was close to the former CM of Tamil Nadu late J Jayalalitha. After Jayalalitha's death, Sasikala was appointed as the interim General Secretary of the party.

Prior to her conviction, Sasikala had ambition to become the chief minister that led to the disintegration of the AIADMK.
