Rahul Gandhi to travel abroad to meet grandmother

| | Jun 14, 2017, at 04:25 am
New Delhi, June 13 (IBNS): Amid the recent political hue and cry in the country, Congress Vice president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that he will be travelling abroad to meet his grandmother and spend some time with family.

The announcement of his visit came just few days after he attempted to visit Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, where farmers were protesting with a demand for better crop price and loan waive.

But he could not reach anywhere near Mandsaur and was later arrested.

In a tweet, Rahul said: "Will be travelling to meet my grandmother & family for a few days. Looking forward to spending some time with them!"

The Congress vice president's grandmother, Paola Maino, lives in Italy.

Rahul, who has often been criticised for frequent foreign trips, went to United States very recently, for his mother and Congress President Sonia Gandhi's health check up.

The 46 old year MP, however, did not reveal the number of days he would be staying in the foreign soil.
