Rajinikanth says pained by violence in various parts of country over CAA, draws criticisms

Chennai/UNI: Superstar Rajinikanth, who has confirmed his political entry but is yet to launch his own party, on Friday said he was pained over the violence in various parts of the country and said it would not help in finding a solution.

Without making a direct mention of the widespread protests across the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Rajini in a tweet said ''violence and rioting should not become a way to find solution for any issue.''

Stating that he was pained by the ongoing violence in various parts of the country, Rajini said people should keep the Nation's security and welfare in mind and remain united and vigilant.

''The ongoing violence gives me great pain,” he added.

Since Rajini did not react or make any specific comment about the CAA which was passed in Parliament and became an Act, he drew critical reactions on the social media.

Reacting to Rajinikanth's tweet, actor-director and Naam Tamizhar Katchi Founder Seeman asked him to spell out his stand on CAA.

Agreeing that violence will not lead to any solution, Seeman asked ''you first tell what is your views on CAA...whether you accept it or oppose it''.

Taking a dig at Rajinikanth, Seeman said the students were protesting braving suppression and oppression against the CAA and none could demean them like this.
