Rajnath Singh plants Rudraksh sapling at his residence

New Delhi, Aug 5 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh planted a sapling of Rudraksh tree at his residence here today, under the Tree Plantation campaign by New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) during ongoing monsoon season.

Rajnath Singh appreciated the green initiative of NDMC and stressed upon the need for taking more efforts towards lessening the pollution level and maintaining ecological balance in the Capital city.

He also praised NDMC for its success in the Tree Plantation drive last year.

The Chairman, NDMC Shri Naresh Kumar informed that in the last four weeks the NDMC has planted more than 7 Lakh saplings against the fixed target of 10 Lacs saplings during the current monsoon season.

He also said that NDMC has planted 86 thousands saplings of trees in the diplomatic area of New Delhi on Saturday.

The 6000 members of NDMC team executed this work, he added
