Shaktiman row: Uttarakhand Assembly witnesses ruckus
Dehradun/New Delhi, Mar 18 (IBNS): The Uttarakhand Assembly on Friday witnessed ruckus regarding the issue of Shaktiman, the police horse crippled during a protest in Dehradun.
The confrontation took place not just between the opposition BJP and the ruling Congress, but also included two ministers of the Harish Rawat government.
The problem started after the Speaker rejected the opposition's demand for a division or physical vote and declared the Budget passed by a voice vote.
The opposition party had earlier accused the Chief Minister of conspiring to keep BJP lawmaker Ganesh Joshi out of the assembly due to the Budget vote.
The legislator, accused of instigating a brutal attack on Shaktiman during the BJP protest on Monday, was arrested on Friday and could not attend the assembly session.
