Spent a warm evening with Sharif family, touched by Pakistan PM's gesture: Modi

New Delhi, Dec 25 (IBNS) India PM Narendra Modi on Friday visited Pakistan for a short and sudden trip to the neighbouring nation where he met his counterpart Nawaz Sharif and appreciated his gesture of receiving him at the airport in Lahore.

"Spent a warm evening with Sharif family at their family home. Nawaz Sahab's birthday & granddaughter's marriage made it a double celebration," Modi tweeted.

"Am personally touched by Nawaz Sharif Sahab's gesture of welcoming me at Lahore airport and coming to the airport when I left," he said.

In his quick visit to the neighbouring nation which lasted for few hours, Modi met his counterpart Nawaz Sharif on Friday.

He also attended Sharif's home in Raiwind where his grand-daughter's wedding is being held.

On his arrival to Pakistan, Sharif welcome Modi at the airport in Lahore with a hug.

Modi reached Pakistan after ending his visit to Russia and Afghanistan.
