New Delhi, Sept 12 (UNI): The Supreme Court on Thursday set aside the Delhi High Court order granting bail to former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director of Bhushan Steel Nitin Johari.

Johari was arrested by the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) for his alleged fraudulent activities.

A bench of the Apex court, headed by Justice NV Ramana, and also comprising Justices Mohan M Shantanagoudar, and Ajay Rastogi, set aside the August 14 Delhi High Court order, which had granted bail to him (Johari).

The apex court cancelled his bail, saying, "At this stage, we are not inclined to give bail to the petitioner."

After cancelling the bail of Johari, the Top Court remitted the matter back to the High Court for fresh hearing and for a consideration.

The Apex Court passed the order, after an appeal was filed by the SFIO which had challenged the Delhi High Court’s August 14 order.

Johari is a co-accused with promoter and other director of Bhushan Steels in the case.
