Uri gang rape & murder of minor: Police arrests five accused
Srinagar, Sept 5 (IBNS): The Kashmir Police has claimed to have solved the gang rape and murder case of the 9-year-old girl from Uri area of Baramulla district with the arrest of five accused persons, media reports said on Wednesday.
On Aug 24, Boniyar police station in Uri received a written complaint about the missing of a 9-year-old girl.
After receiving the complaint, Boniyar police station lodged an FIR under Section 363 RPC.
An investigation was started soon into the case.
Police then made efforts to find the missing girl however, they failed initially.
On Sept 2, the body of the missing girl was found in decomposed state in a nearby forest, some 1 km away from the home of the girl.
The police examined the crime scene and declared it to be the case of murder.
A special investigation team (SIT) headed by SDPO Uri was constituted to investigate the murder.
The investigation team then found that her step-mother was the main accused who had long grudge against the minor.
During questioning, the step-mother revealed that her husband would mostly spend time with her second wife and her daughter, who is the victim.
Hence, Fahmeeda (the step mother) hatched a conspiracy to eliminate her step daughter.
On the fateful day, Fahmeeda took her step daughter to a nearby jungle and asked her son to be ready to commit the crime.
Sahil joined her mother in the forest area along with two of his friends. Another accused also joined them, said reports.
The girl was gang-raped by the accused in presence of her step mother. all the men took turns to rape the minor.
Fahmeeda then strangulated the girl and Sahil hit her head with an axe, that led to her death. After that one accused went back to his home and brought acid in a plastic bottle, said reports.
The body was then dumped in the jungle and all items used to kill her were recovered.
All the accused have been arrested by the police.
