West Bengal: TMC party office collapses in explosion in Birbhum

Kolkata, Sep 10 (IBNS): A local party office of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC)  in West Bengal's Birbhum district was almost destroyed by a high intensity explosion on Monday morning, reports said.

According to reports, the explosion that blew away the party office, which was located at Barra area under Kankartala Police Station near West Bengal-Jharkhand border, took place at around 11 am.

However, no casualty has been reported in the incident so far.

Local BJP leaders alleged that a large number of crude bombs were stored at the party's office and few of those somehow went off in the morning.

Denying all allegations against his party, Birbhum district president of TMC, Anubrata Mondal, blamed the BJP for the blast.

"No bomb was stored inside the Barra party office and BJP activists threw crude bombs aiming at our office," Mondal told IBNS.

The local police have started investigation into the reason behind the explosion.
