Alexander Zverev knocks out Rafael Nadal in first round clash of possible last French Open outing

Spanish Tennis legend Rafael Nadal, who once dominated in Roland Garros, ended his French Open on a sour note after losing his first-round clash against 4th-seeded Alexander Zverev on Monday.

The German player defeated the 22-time Grand Slam winner by 6-3 7-6 (7-5) 6-3.

Nadal was once considered an invisible star on the Paris clay since he bagged 14 French Open titles in his career.

However, he failed to replicate the performance against his young opponent.

In his illustrious career, it was Nadal's fourth defeat in the French Open in 116 singles matches he played in Paris.

Taking control over the match, the German opponent edged a tight second-set tiebreak and overall played the bigger points better during the 3 hours and 5 minutes on court.
