Mahmudullah became the first Bangladeshi batsman to score a century in the World Cup.

He hit seven boundaries and two sixes in his knock while adding 141 runs in the fifth wicket partnership with ex-skipper Mushfiqur Rahim.

Anderson and Chris Jordan took two wickets each for England.

Rubel Hossain took four wickets to destroy the English line up as they were bowled out for 260 runs.

With Bangladesh's victory, Sri Lanka also secured a place in the next stage of the tournament.
