Cricket Australia retires Hughes' number 64 ODI jersey
This was revealed by Aussie captain Michael Clarke.
"I asked Cricket Australia if Hughesy's Australian one-day international shirt number, 64, could be retired, to which they agreed. It means so much," Clarke said in a statement.
"Our promise to the Hughes family is that we will do everything we can to honour his memory. He epitomised what the baggy green is about and what it means to us all. Our dressing room will never be the same," he added.
The 25-year-old died in Sydney Hospital on Thursday after staying in induced coma for two days.
He was hit with a bouncer from Shaun Abbott during a domestic Schefield Shield match at SCG on Tuesday.
He tried to play a hook shot, butb the ball missed and hit the back of his left ear.
He fell on the pitch and never regained his consciousness.
Hughes funeral will be taking place on Wednesday in his hometown.
The first Test against India scheduled to be played on December 4 has been postponed with no dates being decided yet.
