Deepika Kumari beats Dutch archer Quinty Roeffen in tense clash to enter Round 16 of Paris Olympics

Former world number one Indian archer Deepika Kumari continued her hunt for a medal after she reached the pre-quarterfinal stage of the individual event of the Paris Olympics on Wednesday.

The Olympic veteran showed her experience and skills in competing against the Dutch archer Quinty Roeffen in a tense round 32 clash.

Both the archers displayed their confidence while taking on each other in the intense battle to reach the next round and continue the medal hunt.

Deepika's victory also marked a sweet revenge over the Netherlands, the country which beat India in the women's team event.

Deepika reached the next round with a 6-2 victory.

She will next meet German archer Michelle Kroppen in the next stage of the game.
