India take 131 runs lead against Australia, bowlers pick up two early wickets

Melbourne: India took a handsome lead of 131 runs against Australia as the hosts bowled out Ajinkya Rahane and his men for 326 runs in the first innings here on Monday.

Skipper Ajinkya Rahane, who is leading the squad in the absence of Virat Kohli, remained the top scorer for the side with his gutsy knock of 112 runs.

He hit 12 boundaries in his crafted innings.

Mr. Dependable  Ravindra Jadeja aded 57 runs at the end as India crossed Australia's 195 all-out score of the first innings comfortably.

Australia have lost the wickets of Joe Burns  (4) and Steven Smith  (5) so far.

Steve Smith (5*) and Matthew Wade (23*) are at the crease.

Australia stood at 60/2 after 26 overs.

Umesh Yadav and R Ashwin have picked upa  wicket each.
