Indian women doubles pair in last eight of World TT championship first time ever
Dusseldorf/New Delhi, Jun 2 (IBNS): Mouma Das and Manika Batra made history by becoming the Indian pair to reach the quarterfinals of World Table Tennis Championships in Dusseldorf, Germany, according to media reports.
On Thursday, the Indian women pair got a walkover when their opponents, Jie Li and Qian Li, forfeited the doubles match.
Reportedly, Qian had to be hospitalised on Wednesday night after falling sick.
The Indian pair will face the Chinese players, Ding Ning and Liu Shiwen, ranked number one and two, respectively, in the quarterfinals.
