IPL: Kings XI Punjab beat Rajasthan

Chandigarh, May 23 (IBNS): Kings XI Punjab continued its dominance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as it defeated Rajasthan Royals by 16 runs here on Friday.

 Posting 179 for four, Punjab bowlers restricted Rajasthan to 163 for eight in 20 overs.

Shaun Marsh remained the top scorer for Punjab in their route to 179. He smashed five boundaries and a six in his knock.

Manan Vohra (25) and Wriddhiman Saha (27) got the start but could not convert them into big scores.

David Miller (29) and skipper George Bailey (26) added 60 runs in the fifth wicket partnership to post the competitive total on the scorecard.

Rahul Tewatia, James Faulkner and Vikramjeet Malik picked up a wicket each for Rajasthan.

Rajasthan in reply scored 162 for nine in 20 overs.

Faulkner remained the top scorer for the side with his unbeaten 35.

He hit four sixes and a boundary in his 13-ball knock.

Akshar Patel  picked up three wickets for Punjab.
