Jasprit Bumrah, Kumar keep things tight as New Zealand score 239/8 in high-voltage WC semi-final clash

Manchester, July 10 (IBNS): Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvaneswar Kumar bowled well on Wednesday morning as India restricted New Zealand to 239 for the loss of eight wickets in the first semi-final of the World Cup here.

In a rain-hit match, New Zealand came out to play on the reserve day after the match was stopped following rains on Tuesday.

New Zealand resumed the proceedings from 211 runs for the loss five wickets.

New Zealand added 28 runs on Tuesday morning but Indian bowlers kept situations tight and picked up three quick wickets to keep things tough for the former World Cup finalists.

A spectacular run out was performed by Ravindra Jadeja to dismiss Ross Taylor (74) who was looking positive even today.

He had went back tot he pavilion unbeaten on Tuesday when rain had hit the match.

Kumar picked up three wickets for India.

India will need to score 240 runs in theor 50 overs to reach the final of the World Cup.
