Kartik hits the front at TGF SRF East Zone Talent Search Golf Championship

Kolkata, June 30 (IBNS): Kartik Sharma fired a 1-under par 71 to take the leader’s spot in the opening round of the TGF SRF East Zone Talent Search Golf Championship being played at the testing Royal Calcutta Golf Club here on Tuesday.

Kartik leads local lad Gurkirat Singh by a stroke.

Bibek Sardar is a stroke behind at 73 followed by Mohan Sardar a further three strokes behind.

Devansh Chadha shot a 78 to lead the Category B while Sandeep Yadav is placed second at 80.

Kartik made a string of pars on the front nine but a bogey on the 9th hole meant he went out one-over par for the day. Another string of pars followed after the turn but he gained strokes on the Par 5 15th hole and the Par 4 18th holes to turn in a card of 71.
