Rajkot, Oct 4 (IBNS): Young Prithvi Shaw, who had stolen the show in the domestic circuit and lifted the Under-19 cricket world cup earlier this year, made his Test debut against Windies in the first Test match at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium here on Thursday.

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first against the visitors.

India have lost an early wicket in the form of KL Rahul, who was dismissed by Shannon Gabriel for a duck.

Since Rahul's dismissal, Shaw and Cheteshwar Pujara are doing the damage control by counter-attacking the Windies bowling.

As per the last update, India scored 54/1 in 11 overs.

Shaw and Pujara are unbeaten at 32 and 21 runs respectively.
