Ronaldo's replacement Ramos scores hat-trick powering Portugal to reach FIFA World Cup quarterfinals

Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement Goncalo Ramos ensured Portugal's convincing reach to the FIFA World Cup 2022 quarterfinals outplaying Switzerland 6-1 in the round of 16 encounter on Tuesday.

Ramos, who took the field with Ronaldo being benched, scored three goals at 17th minute, 51st minute and 57th minute.

After Ramos' opening goal, Pepe ensured Portugal's healthy lead (2-0) in the first half by striking it successfully at the 33rd minute.

Raphael Guerreiro too scored one in between Ramos' carnage.

In the 58th minute, Manuel Akanji scored the first goal for Switzerland but the damage was too big to manage by then.

Inflicting further wounds to the Swiss side, Rafael Leao scored a goal in the extra-time to take the match's scoreline to 6-1 in favour of Portugal.
